Lessons learned about making an open-world driving game’s world scenes
Hey folks,
The game is still pottering along here & there. Albeit with some slowdown due to the recent news (from which I hope you're all able to find a moment to breathe, or process it, or help those in Ukraine in some form).
Amidst this, I found some time to write up some thoughts & notes of my experience making this weird mish-mash of an open-world truck game, which you can find on my medium here.
In other news, I did another complete playthrough of the game last sunday; and I'm like 80% sure the game is seriously close to being releasable. Time will tell (and I still want to give myself the breathing room to shift the date of course), but it's soon.
I keep reflecting on how this was supposed to be a project that released by June 2021, and yet... it's grown into something so much more than that. Hopefully I can find time to word all those thoughts succinctly 💭Anyway, I hope y'all are able to keep on keeping on.
